Tell me what it needs to say. I'll work out how to say it, then go make it.

You already know how you want it to feel. You just don't have words for it yet. That part, before anybody knows what it is, is my favorite part of the job.

Direction, storyboards, video, stills, public art, family sessions, and the box of prints nobody's opened in years. When it's bigger than me, I bring in people I've been working with for twenty years — photographers, assistants, fabricators, whoever the thing turns out to need.

HouWall

Public art commission, Houston.

A wall is a hard brief. It gets seen by people who didn't choose to look at it, from distances nobody plans for, in light that changes all day. You can't make it precious and you can't make it shout.

Work of mine hangs on nine buildings around Houston, and over a hundred pieces went into City Hall through the Arts District. Braeswood, Mid-Main, a baptismal gown, and a few things that don't have a category.

David is a remarkable photographer and brilliant storyteller, able to capture light and human emotion in every picture he takes. I've hired him a number of times on behalf of clients and also on behalf of our agency. Perhaps best of all, he's able to make everyone feel at ease as he does his job. David and team are incredible. They are professional in every sense of the word, as well as being personable, engaging, and made every one of our attendees feel like a Super Star. He runs his team like a well oiled machine — photographers, photo assistants and make-up artists, making the customer journey and experience a joy. What people bring me

We know what we want it to feel like and we can't describe it yet Direction There's a story in here somewhere and it needs to move Video Our photos look like a stock library and our people don't Photography There's a wall, a lobby, a building, and a budget nobody's spent yet Commissions We want pictures of the family that still look like the family Portraits Nobody can face the boxes in the closet, and somebody has to Archives

Some of it

Tell me what you're making

Or tell me the feeling, if that's all you've got. That's usually where it starts. I'll tell you straight whether I'm the right person for it, and who is if I'm not.

Or call, if that is easier — 713·416·2633
