How Wolves Change Rivers

George Monbiot’s five-minute film traces how the return of wolves to Yellowstone changed animal behavior, vegetation, riverbanks, and the shape of the rivers themselves.

Change moves through a system.

George Monbiot wrote and narrated this five-minute film; Sustainable Human produced the music, sound, and images. It follows the reintroduction of wolves to Yellowstone and the chain of changes that followed across animals, plants, riverbanks, and waterways.

I return to it because it makes a systems idea visible: changing one relationship can alter conditions far beyond the point where the change began.
